Career Changers

It’s never too late to do what you’ve always wanted – teach children in a classroom setting. By making the decision to teach, you are opening the door to immeasurable personal and professional rewards.

You are also opening new doors for students. By sharing your real world experience, you help them better understand how to apply the skills they learn each day. And what is more gratifying at the end of the day, than knowing you’ve positively affected the lives of young people and inspired them to reach their full potential?

Fort Worth ISD applauds your decision and welcomes you. We offer:

  • One of the most competitive salary and benefits packages in the state (science, mathematics and bilingual teachers are eligible for additional stipends to fill high-need positions)
  • A progressive and supportive work environment that emphasizes the value of teachers
  • A wide variety of opportunities for personal and professional development
  • A workplace that actively seeks input from teachers on curriculum reform issues

Potential Teachers (Not Yet Certified)

Alternative Certification Programs (ACPs) allow you to teach as you begin the certification process.

Program requirements may differ slightly, but all lead to certification. Contact a program today or visit the program’s Web site to determine which one works best for you. There are 144 approved ACP programs. The full list can be found at www.sbec.state.tx.us.
