Recent Texas Graduates
New teachers who are recent graduates of a Texas college or university and have completed all coursework, student teaching and test requirements, must:
-
1) Apply through the State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) Online System;
2) Pass a criminal background check including a national fingerprint based background check;
3) Pay a $47 SBEC fingerprint processing fee; and
4) Pay a $77 fee for a Standard Certificate
Contact the Certification Officer in the Education Department of the college or university concerning the recommendation.

Fort Worth ISD's Certification Office provides study sessions for Fort Worth ISD employees in various content areas and pedagogy and professional responsibilities in the Fall and Spring semesters. Please contact Corie Griffin at 817.871.2225 for more information.
