As an experienced educator, you already know the challenges and rewards of being a teacher. We recognize the value of your experience in the classroom and provide a variety of ways in which you can return to teaching. | Teachers who were certified prior to May 1, 1986, and who have not successfully completed the reading and writing portion of the Texas Higher Education Assessment (THEA), which replaced the TASP, or an appropriate TExES/ExCET exam, will be placed on a six-month Non-Renewable Permit. The teacher must verify completion of the THEA or an appropriate TExES/ExCET exam by the end of the six-month period or current school year. |
