About Us

What do Fort Worth ISD teachers have in common?

Fort Worth ISD teachers are highly-qualified, driven professionals. They possess a deep concern for their students and for the environment in which they learn. Most importantly, our teachers are committed to providing our students with a comprehensive, rigorous academic experience.

What is it like to work in a Fort Worth ISD school?

While each school in the Fort Worth ISD is different, we all have one common goal: to prepare all students for a successful future by providing rigorous learning opportunities and fostering an environment that encourages academic excellence. Our administrators understand the challenges our teachers undertake each day and strive to create a work atmosphere that is collaborative, supportive and stimulating.

What is it like to live in Fort Worth?

You would be hard-pressed to find a city as unique as Fort Worth.

Often dubbed
“Cowtown” by Texans and non-Texans alike, the Fort Worth of the 21st century is more culture than cows. Home to some of the nation’s most renowned museums, music venues, and eateries, Fort Worth offers all of the amenities of urban living without the typical hassles of a large city.

While Fort Worth is part of one of the country’s largest metropolitan areas, its cost of living is among the lowest in the nation. Housing is ample and affordable, and residents have easy access to top amusement parks, professional sports, and performance arenas.

Sophisticated yet casual, cultured yet comfortable, Fort Worth is the best of both worlds.

Community Support

Fort Worth ISD enjoys unparalleled support from Fort Worth business and civic organizations:

  • The RadioShack Scholars Program honors academic achievement for 8th through 12th graders
  • Adopt-A-School companies or organizations partner with schools to help meet needs and goals
  • Corporate sponsors reward exemplary school attendance with incentive raffles for qualified students - previous prizes have included cars, savings bonds, laptop computers, and children's furniture
  • Fort Worth After School, a joint effort between the FWISD and the City of Fort Worth, provides free, need-based after-school programs that offer homework help, physical, educational and social development for elementary and middle school students
